  • Sorry Xanga

Well, apparently I never use Xanga anymore. I guess Facebook is easier....Anyway, all is pretty well. I suppose you'll have to be friends with me on Facebook if you want to hear about what's new with my life. I know it's not like Xanga but that's what my diary's for. Later~!

  • Wow

So, it´s almost the end of March already!! WoW!! I have been doing pretty good. I have bad days and good days though but i know God is taking care of me every day! I have met so many people here in Mexico who are such an encouragment to me! I am visiting a couple right now who invited me to come stay with them and join them to visit 10 hours south in Mexico where the Tepehuanes and Wuicholes indians live up in the mountians. It was the kind of place i have only ever seen in pictures!! I got to go through 3 states in Mexico on this trip: Chihuahuah, Durango and Zacatecas. Even though it´s really neat here I have not felt God calling me to live here or be here full time and i think that he brought me here to meet the people i have and to learn what i have learnt from this time.

I still have 3 months left here so who knows what more will happen or how i will feel after that! I have learned though to appreciate everything i have and everyone that comes into my life. So, i hope you are all doing well !!!! Happy Easter!!!!

  • Warning: DO NOT EAT PIG SKIN

I am in Mexico where I often thought I would like to live one day. It's hard being somewhere that's not familiar!! I have been so blessed though because I have some really great people around to help me, advise me, encourage me....I am so glad! I am living at a nice place where I always have what I need and more. I went with a missionary couple yesterday, who are great friends of mine, to a nursing home to sing with them and share with them about Christ. I shared as someone translated why i am here and how I want to help the people here and do what God wants me to do.

At the nursing home they were having burritos and i figured i would try one cause they are usually pretty tasty... well, this one was different! Inside the burrito were beans and chunks of PIG SKIN!!! Maybe you would like it but it was not one of my favorites at ALL!! The chewy, rubbery texture is just something i usually try to stay away from!! This is the first food i cannot eat!

I have been planning some English lessons lately for school. They would like me to teach the teachers English here. At least then, even though my passion is kids, I dont have to deal with discipline. It may be a good  place to start teaching. I dont want to focus on teaching while i am here though. I want to have time to go places to help people in different situations too.  I am going to visit the orphanage soon i visited in August. They want someone to live there and help the kids with their homework and just be a friend to the kids. I dont know what God wants me to do totally but I do know I really need to seek him and let him guide me!!

Hard to know what to do but I am here for a reason!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take care!!

I hear it's cold and blizzarding at home!
    Have fun with that!!!!

  • 2008

I'm off...almost!! I am just sitting here the night before leaving for Mexico for 5 1/2 months trying to store home in my memory so I can think of it while I am gone. I know it's not that long that i'm gone but I start thinking...I wonder what the bed will be like I will sleep in, what my next shower will be like...everything. I wonder what I will realize I took for granted the most! I am starting to think of all the people and things that will be great to see again in Mexico since last August too!! I have butterflies in my stomach...or i'm hungry (but I don't think so cause it's been like that for a few days now!)

Anyway, I better get my sleep. Got a long, long day tomorrow!!

    Adios!
